Trending
The Trending page surfaces the topics your audience cares about right now, gives you deep AI-powered research on any topic in seconds, and lets you generate a LinkedIn post the moment inspiration strikes — without ever leaving FeedBoss.
Overview
Every day, FeedBoss pulls a fresh set of trending topics relevant to your niche. Each topic includes a category, a short description, a direct link to the source, and a suggested LinkedIn angle — a ready-made take you can post on.
From there, you have two paths:
- Quick Post — Generate a post immediately using the topic title, description, and angle. No research needed.
- Research — Ask FeedBoss to dig deeper. In 5–15 seconds you get a full research brief: a summary, key points, different perspectives, recent developments, post ideas, and supporting statistics.
Once you have research, you can generate a post from the full brief, or pick a specific post idea and build from that angle alone.
Getting Started
Finding the Trending Page
Go to your workspace and click Trending in the left sidebar under Content Tools.
Generating a Quick Post
- Find a topic that interests you in the grid
- Click Quick Post
- FeedBoss composes a prompt from the topic title, description, and LinkedIn angle
- You're taken to the Post Generator with that prompt pre-loaded
Use Quick Post when you want to move fast and the topic angle already fits what you want to say.
Researching a Topic
Researching a Trending Topic
- Click Research on any topic card
- The Research Panel slides open on the right
- FeedBoss fetches a full research brief — this typically takes 5–15 seconds
- Once loaded, you'll see:
| Section | What It Contains |
|---|---|
| Summary | A plain-English overview of the topic |
| Key Points | The most important facts and takeaways |
| Different Perspectives | Multiple viewpoints — including contrarian ones |
| Recent Developments | What's happened lately on this topic |
| LinkedIn Post Ideas | Specific angles you can post on |
| Stats & Data | Numbers and data points to back your post |
| Sources | Clickable links to the research sources |
Using Research to Generate a Post
From the Research Panel, you have two options:
- Use This — Appears on each individual post idea. Generates a post built around that specific angle, informed by the supporting research.
- Generate Post with Full Research — Uses everything: summary, key points, stats, and all post ideas together. Best for comprehensive, well-supported posts.
Re-researching a Topic
If a trending topic has been researched before and you want fresh data, click the Re-research button in the panel header. This forces a new fetch, bypassing the cached result.
[!NOTE] Re-research is only available for the daily trending topics. Custom topic searches always fetch fresh data.
Custom Topic Research
You're not limited to the trending topics FeedBoss surfaces. You can research any topic you choose.
Steps:
- Type your topic into the search box at the top of the page
- Press Enter or click the search button
- The Research Panel opens with a fresh research brief for your topic
Custom topics work identically to trending topics in terms of what research sections you get and how you generate posts from them.
Research History
Every topic you research is saved to your Past Searches list, shown as a horizontal scrollable row at the top of the page.
- Click any past search to reload its research into the panel instantly
- The timestamp shows how long ago you researched it
- The total number of searches is shown next to the heading
Past searches are a fast way to revisit a topic you researched earlier without waiting for a new fetch.
Dashboard Integration
If you're on the Dashboard and you see a trending topic highlighted there, clicking it takes you directly to the Trending page with that specific topic scrolled into view and highlighted. The highlight fades after a few seconds so you can get straight to work.
Session Caching
Research results are cached for the duration of your session. If you close and reopen the Research Panel for a topic you already researched, FeedBoss shows the cached result immediately rather than fetching again. A small "Cached result from [date]" note appears at the bottom of the panel when this happens.
Usage Limits
The Trending feature tracks your monthly research searches. Each time you research a topic (trending or custom), it counts toward your monthly quota.
When you hit your limit, the Research Panel will show an upgrade prompt. You can still browse trending topics and use Quick Post — only the research fetch is gated.
To increase your limit, go to Settings → Subscription and upgrade your plan. Limits reset at the start of your billing cycle.
Tips
- Use Quick Post for timely content — When a topic is breaking, speed matters. Quick Post gets you into the editor in one click.
- Use Research for thought leadership — If you want to share an informed perspective with supporting stats and nuance, take the extra 15 seconds to research first.
- Pick a specific idea, not just the full brief — The individual "Use This" buttons on post ideas often produce more focused, publishable posts than using everything at once.
- Check Past Searches before re-researching — If you researched a topic this week, the cached result might be good enough. Save your quota for genuinely new topics.
- Use custom research for your own ideas — You don't have to wait for a topic to trend. If you have something to say, search for it and let FeedBoss back it up with data.
